A construction company driver was killed after he was shot and stabbed by a male suspect in Butuan City, according to a report from Frontline.

The incident occurred inside the office of the construction company where both the victim and the suspect had connections.
The victim, who worked as a driver for the company, was inside the office when the suspect, identified as Michael Chavez, stormed in.
Chavez is reportedly the husband of the company’s secretary. An altercation immediately broke out between the two men, escalating into a violent encounter that left the driver fatally wounded.

During the scuffle, the victim sustained both gunshot and stab wounds. Despite efforts to save him, he was declared dead at the scene.
The exact motive behind the attack is still under investigation, but authorities have confirmed that Chavez was promptly taken into police custody following the incident.
The scene was marked with grief as the victim’s aunt wept uncontrollably while her nephew’s body was carried out of the office.
Her cries echoed the heartbreak felt by the family and those close to the victim, who was described as a hardworking employee.
Authorities have not yet disclosed the nature of the conflict between the victim and the suspect.
