A 50-year-old businesswoman lost her life after being shot in the head at close range.

The horrifying incident took place in Barangay Commonwealth, Quezon City, on a Monday.

In a report by James Agustin on GMA 7's 'Unang Balita,' it was confirmed that the victim was declared dead on the spot.

According to the barangay, a concerned citizen reached out to them to report hearing two gunshots.

Barangay Commonwealth Kagawad, Elmer Buena, said they immediately responded to the crime scene together with the BPSO. They also called for an ambulance; however, when they arrived at the crime scene, the victim was already bloodied on the floor.

When medical personnel checked on the victim, she no longer had pulse, according to Buena.

According to the investigations, the victim was allegedly walking when she was followed by the suspect and was shot at close range.

Authorities are still determining the motive behind the crime.

According to the victim's relatives, the victim reportedly had a micro-loan business, a grocery store, and a piggery business.

The police authorities have already conducted a follow-up operation to catch the suspect.

Police authorities said the school has a security guard, but, being a familiar face in the school, the suspect managed to easily get in and out of the school. The suspect said he was there to talk to his wife and settle their misunderstanding, but unfortunately, it led to a big arguement.
