A 50-year-old businesswoman was shot dead in Barangay Commonwealth, Quezon City, after being followed and gunned down in broad daylight.

The tragic incident occurred on Monday and was reported by James Agustin on "Unang Balita" this Wednesday.
According to barangay officials, a concerned citizen who heard gunshots immediately called for help.
“Dali-dali po kami kasama po ang mga BPSO at sinabay ko na rin po tawagan 'yung ating ambulance. Pagdating po namin sa area, nakita nga na po namin na nakabulagta na po 'yung isang babae na duguan at may tama po sa ulo and then pina-check po sa ating mga medic, wala na po talagang pulso,” said Barangay Kagawad Elmer Buena.

Initial investigations revealed that the victim had been walking when she was allegedly followed by the suspect, who shot her at close range.
The victim was declared dead on the spot, having sustained a fatal gunshot wound to the head.
“Nakausap rin namin po 'yung mga kamag-anak. Ito po ay isang negosyante na nagtitinda po sa palengke. May pwesto po ng grocery, babuyan at meron din po siya mga pautang,” Buena added.
Authorities have yet to determine the motive behind the killing.
A follow-up operation has been launched to identify and locate the suspect.
Meanwhile, barangay officials have committed to increasing security and patrol efforts in the area to prevent similar incidents.

According to the report of EJ Gomez in 'Unang Balita,' the 38-year-old suspect committed the crime inside the school's faculty room. Police authorities said the school has a security guard, but, being a familiar face in the school, the suspect managed to easily get in and out of the school. The suspect said he was there to talk to his wife and settle their misunderstanding, but unfortunately, it led to a big arguement.
