The police authorities believed that the victims had been robbed.
According to P/LT. Novah Tan from the Ormoc City Police Office, the way out of the house of the victims was filled with scattered stuff.
She added that they are yet to find out the total amount of stolen belongings of the victims and whether there were pieces of jewelry missing.
The authorities are still conducting a series of investigations about the incident, but for now, they already have 9 persons of interest.
In the Philippines, a person of interest refers to someone who is not officially charged with a crime but is believed to have information that could help in an investigation.
This individual may have been seen near the scene, had contact with the victim, or displayed suspicious behavior, but there is not enough evidence yet to consider them a suspect.
Authorities usually use the term to avoid making direct accusations while they continue gathering facts.
Being labeled as a person of interest does not automatically mean the person is guilty, but it means they are involved in some way that requires further questioning or monitoring by investigators.

In a report by Gary De Leon of TV 5's 'Frontline Pilipinas,' the family started getting threats after lending P1-M to one of the residents of their barangay; allegedly using the money for business.
In another viral local report, a 51-year-old public school teacher in Las Piñas City was stabbed multiple times by her own husband. According to the report of EJ Gomez in 'Unang Balita,' the 38-year-old suspect committed the crime inside the school's faculty room. Police authorities said the school has a security guard, but, being a familiar face in the school, the suspect managed to easily get in and out of the school. The suspect said he was there to talk to his wife and settle their misunderstanding, but unfortunately, it led to a big arguement.
