According to a report by Christian Maño on Super Radyo DZBB, the incident occurred past 9 a.m. while the child was crossing the area.

Airport police confirmed that the TNVS vehicle had entered lanes designated exclusively for private vehicles.

The driver explained that he was attempting to avoid an ongoing construction project in the arrival zone and was on his way to the designated ride-hailing area.

He claimed that his decision to shift lanes was due to blocked or inaccessible paths caused by the construction.

The boy’s mother said they had just arrived from Palawan and were on their way to Laguna when the accident happened.

Despite recommendations from airport officials to bring her son to the hospital for further medical evaluation, the mother declined.

As a result of the incident, the TNVS driver has been held by both the Land Transportation Office (LTO) and the NAIA Police.

Authorities stated that the driver could face potential complaints for violating traffic regulations within the airport premises.

The incident highlights the ongoing concerns surrounding safety measures and traffic flow in busy airport areas, particularly with active construction zones and the increasing presence of ride-hailing vehicles.
