In the Philippines, bullying in school can have serious and lasting effects on students.
Victims of bullying often experience emotional distress, including fear, anxiety, low self-esteem, and depression.
It can also lead to poor academic performance because students may lose focus, skip classes, or avoid school altogether due to fear of being harmed or humiliated.
In some cases, bullying may even lead to self-harm or suicidal thoughts.
On the other hand, those who bully others are also at risk of developing aggressive behavior, lack of empathy, and problems with authority later in life.
The overall school environment is affected as well, creating a climate of fear and disrespect that can disrupt learning for everyone.
That is why schools, parents, and communities are encouraged to take immediate action and follow the Anti-Bullying Act of 2013 to ensure a safe and supportive environment for all students.
