In the Philippines, if someone stabs another person and the victim survives, the case is usually classified as frustrated hom!cide or attempted hom!cide, depending on the circumstances.
Under the Revised Penal Code, frustrated hom!cide applies when the attacker had the clear intent to kill, performed all the necessary acts to cause death, but the victim survived due to timely medical help or other factors beyond the attacker’s control.
Attempted hom!cideapplies if the intent to kill is present but the act was not completed or was interrupted.

If the stabbing resulted in serious physical injuries but not necessarily an attempt to kill, it may be charged as serious physical injuries instead.
