That's when the incoming AUV crashed into the motorcycle, resulting in the rider being thrown a few feet away.
The rider was rushed to the hospital for immediate medical attention, but he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Meanwhile, the AUV driver wasn't hurt in the incident.
In the Philippines, if a motorcycle rider invades the wrong lane and dies from an accident, the case is usually treated as a self-inflicted traffic violation resulting in death.
Authorities will investigate the incident to determine if the rider's action directly caused the collision.
If it is confirmed that the rider was at fault by entering the opposite lane, legal responsibility generally does not fall on the other party involved, unless there is evidence of negligence or reckless behavior on their part.
Although the rider has already passed away, the case may still be documented as reckless driving or improper lane usage, and it could affect insurance claims, liability decisions, and any civil actions that may follow.
