An attempted robbery by a group of men posing as passengers was foiled in the early hours of Tuesday, June 10, in Tondo, Manila, after a TNVS driver grew suspicious and drove straight to a nearby police outpost.

CCTV footage from Honorio Lopez Boulevard in Balut captured three men running around 2 a.m., followed closely by pursuing police officers.
Another angle showed one of the suspects hastily exiting the vehicle just before the chase began.
According to police investigations, the suspects posed as passengers with the intent to rob the driver mid-trip.

“Magpapanggap ho silang pasahero, tapos kukuha ng tiyempo. Magdedeklara ng hold up. Isasagawa na nila ‘yong masamang plano…Pagsakay pa lang, naghihinala na ‘yong ating biktima kasi iba nga ‘yong mga galawan,” said PLtCol Melvin Florida Jr., chief of Raxabago Tondo Police Station.
Sensing danger, the driver diverted the vehicle to the nearest police outpost.
“Fortunately, nag-iikot po ‘yong ating mga pulis at meron din sa standby point, naidaan niya doon at nakahingi po siya ng saklolo,” added Florida.
Two out of the four suspects were apprehended, while the other two managed to flee.
Authorities recovered a .38 caliber handgun and ammunition from one suspect.
Records revealed the arrested men had prior charges, including murder, illegal dr&gs, and child abu&e.
One suspect admitted, “Pag nakursunudahan lang po ng kasama namin. Mali po talaga... Gipit.”
Another claimed, “Damay lang po kaming dalawa... Hindi po namin alam na gano’n pala ang mangyayari.”

In another viral local report, a 51-year-old public school teacher in Las Piñas City was stabbed multiple times by her own husband. According to the report of EJ Gomez in 'Unang Balita,' the 38-year-old suspect committed the crime inside the school's faculty room. Police authorities said the school has a security guard, but, being a familiar face in the school, the suspect managed to easily get in and out of the school. The suspect said he was there to talk to his wife and settle their misunderstanding, but unfortunately, it led to a big arguement.
