The incident stemmed from accusations that she had tampered with the suspect’s tricycle and stolen money.
“Magsosoli nga po kami ng kariton ng mga barkada ko dun sa aroma. May nakapagsabi at sumigaw, 'uy si Saya oh,'” the victim recalled. “Yun bigla niya akong binaril, sabay umalis kaagad po.”
The woman was accused of putting water in the suspect’s gas tank and of stealing ₱700—both of which she denies.

She admitted to threatening to damage his motorcycle, which allegedly triggered the violent outburst.
“Siyempre mahirap po. Hindi ko na magawa yung magdiskarte, mangalakal, kasi bawal ako magbuhat,” she said, now struggling to work and make a living due to her injury.
Following the shooting, the suspect fled to Bulacan and remained in hiding for a time.
He later returned to Tondo, where authorities arrested him on the strength of a warrant.
The suspect has confessed to the crime and expressed remorse, saying he hopes his friend can forgive him.
