According to a report by Efren Mamac on GMA Regional TV One Mindanao, the family was traveling from General Santos City to Davao City when the incident occurred.

Police investigations revealed that the car veered into the opposite lane and collided head-on with a 10-wheeler truck.

“Mayroon diyan bagong asphalt na portion na sa gitna ang asphalt then ang outer lane is yung sementado. Nahulog ang kotse doon sa sementado then ibinalik kaya pumunta sa kabilang lane, yung linya ng 10-wheeler, yung truck, 'yon na,” said Police Lt. Col. Geovanni Ladeo, Chief of the Malungon Municipal Police Station.

All passengers are now recovering from their injuries.
