The victim later reported the incident to local police after managing to escape.

According to a report by Emil Sumangil on GMA News 24 Oras, police investigations revealed that the victim sold synthetic diamonds in a shopping complex in San Juan. His affordable pricing reportedly angered other vendors.

Marmol stated that the suspects, rival businessmen, hired men to abduct the victim.

Instead of fleeing the country after his release, the victim sought help from authorities. Police then launched an investigation that led to the suspects' location.

The suspects’ identities remain confidential as the investigation continues. The victim, meanwhile, expressed relief and now feels safer following the arrests.
