According to a report by CJ Torida on GMA Regional TV One North Central Luzon, the incident occurred along A.B. Fernandez Avenue in Barangay Pantal.
The victim had just left a wake and was about to drive off when he was shot by unidentified gunmen.
“Pagsakay sa kaniyang sasakyan, hindi pa nakakaalis, doon na siya pinagbabaril,” said Police Lieutenant Colonel Brendon Palisoc, chief of the Dagupan City Police Station.

A nearby resident initially thought he had heard firecrackers until he saw someone slumped inside a vehicle.
The victim was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
According to authorities, two suspects riding a motorcycle carried out the attack.
Investigators are currently reviewing footage from closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras near the crime scene as part of their ongoing investigation.
“Nakikipag-ugnayan tayo sa iba’t ibang agencies para matukoy kung ano ang motive sa pamamaril na ito,” Palisoc added.
Police have yet to determine the motive behind the killing and are continuing their efforts to identify and locate the suspects involved.

Senator Jinggoy has confirmed the alleged assault.
