According to the authorities, the man sustained wounds from the incident, but he's already recovering well in the hospital.
In a report by GMA 7's '24 Oras Weekend,' the truck driver took care of the medical expenses of the victim.
If a man crosses the road recklessly and not in a designated pedestrian lane and ends up getting hit by a vehicle, authorities will first respond to give immediate medical assistance and bring the injured person to a hospital.
After that, the police will investigate the incident to find out who was at fault. If it is proven that the man crossed carelessly and violated traffic rules, he may be held responsible for the accident.
However, if the driver was also speeding, distracted, or under the influence, then both parties could share the blame. The driver may still be held liable for injuries or damages, especially if there is proof of negligence.
In most cases, traffic enforcers or investigators will rely on CCTV footage, witness statements, and physical evidence to decide what legal actions will follow.
