A 23-year-old man sustained multiple physical injuries after allegedly being assaulted and robbed by a group of young men, according to a report from GMA Regional TV.

The victim, identified as Mat Ernest Bongo, had just escorted his female co-worker home when the attack occurred.

He recounted that a group of men suddenly ganged up on him, beating him with fists, kicks, and even using sharp objects.

“Nang natumba ako, pinagtatadyakan nila ako tapos may iba na may pitsa kurno at matulis na singsing,” Mat said, describing the violence he endured.

He suffered injuries to various parts of his body.

Aside from the physical assault, Mat claimed the group also took personal items from him, including his AirPods.

He expressed relief that he managed to stay conscious during the attack.

Mat suspects that the motive behind the attack was jealousy.

He believes one of the suspects was also pursuing the same female co-worker he had brought home that evening.

Authorities have yet to issue an official statement regarding the incident.

However, an investigation is reportedly underway to identify and apprehend those involved.

The incident has raised concerns about safety in the area, prompting calls for increased security and quicker police response to similar cases of violence and theft.

Rensales, a stroke survivor, felt dizzy and collapsed shortly after casting his vote at Oas South Central Elementary School, ABS-CBN reported. His wife shared that he insisted on voting despite the heat and early crowd, believing his vote still mattered. He was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
