Ina ng 10-anyos na namatay pagkatapos magpatuli sa pekeng doctor, inalala anak: "Sobrang talino po"

Marjorie San Agustin, the grieving mother of a young boy who died after undergoing circumcision, has decided to postpone a second autopsy out of sympathy for her son's body, ABS-CBN reported.

Despite this, she is determined to pursue justice and hold the doctor accountable.

She also recalled how smart and talented her son was.

“Sobrang talino po 'yan eh, may honor po 'yan eh, sobrang sipag po mag-aral. Sumasayaw pa rin po 'yan. Kaya, hindi ko po talaga matatanggap. Pagdudusahan po talaga niya 'yung kasalanan niya,” said Marjorie, describing her son Nathan as a bright and hardworking student who also loved to dance.

Nathan was supposed to enter Grade 4 this school year, and his school supplies were already prepared.

“Siya naman po gusto magpatuli, siyempre ako po bilang nanay, kumpleto na po ng gamit 'yung anak ko eh, pasok na lang po talaga 'yung mga anak ko. Kumbaga, 'yung tuli na lang po. 'Yung na lang po 'yung problema namin,” she recalled.

In an emotional plea, Marjorie said, “Hustisya po 'yan para sa anak ko, hindi ko po matatanggap na, ganun-ganun lang. Hindi ko po alam kung bakit namatay 'yung anak ko. Pinatuli ko lang 'yan eh, hindi ko alam, hindi ko alam, gusto ko hustisya. Kung ano 'yung kinamatay ng anak ko.”

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has taken Marjorie’s complaint affidavit and announced plans to perform an autopsy.

NBI Director Jaime Santiago said, “Whatever will be the result (cause) of the death, ipapatawag namin, isu-subpoena namin 'yung doctor na nag tuli.”

If proven liable, the doctor may face charges of medical malpractice or reckless imprudence resulting in h&micide.

The shooting incident is claimed to be linked to alleged vote buying monitoring activities. Witnesses say the violence erupted after Benedicto reportedly fired upon volunteers of “Team Ugyon” who were monitoring alleged vote-buying activities outside a property associated with “Team Asenso.”

Still in other news, a 65-year-old man, Nestor Rensales, died after voting in Oas, Albay during the midterm elections. Rensales, a stroke survivor, felt dizzy and collapsed shortly after casting his vote at Oas South Central Elementary School, ABS-CBN reported. His wife shared that he insisted on voting despite the heat and early crowd, believing his vote still mattered. He was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
