Nagpakilalang doktor na nag-circumcise sa nasawing 10-anyos na bata, peke pala at dati ng nakulong

- The person who circumcised the 10-year-old boy who died turned out to be a quack doctor, according to investigations

- Additionally, according to the investigations and the barangay, the clinic has no proper permit to operate

- In a report on GMA 7's 'Unang Balita,' the quack doctor has been imprisoned before for impersonating a legitimate doctor by using a real doctor's name and license number

- The suspect, a female senior citizen and a midwife, was then arrested back in 2023 but was able to bail, however, she didn't stop her illegal operations

It can be recalled that a 10-year-old boy named Mc Nathan died after being circumcised in a lying-in clinic in Balut, Tondo.

According to the barangay, the clinic has not had a permit for a while, which is why they thought it had already stopped its operations.

The mother of the boy took him to the clinic shortly after 2 PM on Saturday, May 17. Before the circumcision began, the boy was reportedly given a 20cc dose of anesthesia.

The operation went smoothly, but the victim's mother noticed that her son started shaking afterward.

She said she asked the doctor if it was normal, and the doctor responded that it was because the boy was still groggy.

Not long after, the 10-year-old began having seizures, according to the mother’s statement in '24 Oras.' His eyes were open, but he appeared unconscious.

The boy was rushed to a nearby hospital in an attempt to revive him, but he eventually died. His family proceeded to the Manila Police District to file a blotter report.

They also went to the National Bureau of Investigation to request a formal investigation.

NBI Director Jaime Santiago said they would look into the incident, but most importantly, the autopsy results will determine the actual cause of the boy’s death.

It's for the program launched by the local government called "Operation Tulî." The said program encourages males, 20 years old and above, to undergo circumcision, where they can get an instant P10,000 cash. Meanwhile, for senior citizens, P20,000 cash awaits those who will join the said program.
