The video shows the rider briefly stopping to check his motorcycle after traversing the area where the group was situated.
Shortly thereafter, one of the suspects approached the rider and allegedly delivered two punches.
The rider reportedly retaliated with a punch that caused the initial assailant to fall. It was at this point that the three other suspects joined the fray, collectively assaulting the rider.
The victim was subjected to multiple punches, kicks, and even a chair strike before being left unconscious on the pavement.
Other residents in the vicinity later came to the aid of the unconscious victim, carrying him to safety.
Barangay officials have confirmed that both the victim and two of the four suspects are residents of the same area.
Initial information from the barangay suggests the altercation may have stemmed from the rider's passing by a group of suspects who had reportedly just finished a drinking session.
CCTV footage indicates that one of the suspects made a gesture or contact with the rider as he passed, causing the rider to stop, which then escalated into the physical altercation.
Further details provided by a barangay councilor, Kagawad Peyang dela Cruz, citing the wife of one of the suspects, suggested that the rider was allegedly speeding and inadvertently hit the hand of one of the suspects.
The councilor added that the rider reportedly responded to the incident by asking, "Imbes daw na mag-sorry sinabihan sila na 'bakit nasaktan ka ba?'" instead of offering an apology, which may have further ignited the conflict.
The barangay also noted that the victim was allegedly under the influence of alcohol when the incident took place.
The victim has since returned home and is currently recovering from the injuries he sustained during the assault.
Meanwhile, authorities have initiated a search operation for the four individuals involved in the attack.
The exact charges to be filed against the suspects, once apprehended, were not explicitly detailed in reports but would likely fall under physical injury or more severe offenses depending on the extent of the victim's injuries.
This incident highlights concerns about public safety in residential areas, particularly during late-night hours.
Local law enforcement is expected to intensify efforts to locate and apprehend the remaining assailants to ensure accountability and maintain peace within the community.
The ongoing investigation aims to fully clarify the circumstances that led to the violent confrontation.
