A 50-year-old man from Villaba, Leyte, was considered to have been overkilled after being shot 14 times.
In a report by TV5's 'Frontline Pilipinas Weekend,' the victim was feeding his chicken when the incident happened.
According to police authorities, the victim suffered 14 gunshot wounds, which they described as an "overkill."
"Medyo overkill talaga 'yung pagkuha sa kaniya kasi gumamit ba naman ng high-caliber na M16 at saka 45-caliber? Not less than two ang gumawa noon," said P/Maj. IAN SALVADOR PO, CHIEF OF POLICE, VILLABA MPS.

The suspects remain at large and are now being pursued by the police.
Meanwhile, according to the report, the authorities already have a person of interest for the crime.
Moreover, police are not setting aside illegal dr*gs as the motive behind the crime because the victim was involved in "tokhang" before.
In a shooting crime, the term "overkill" is used when a person is shot far more times than necessary to cause death. It usually means the attack was extremely excessive, violent, or brutal. Overkill often shows strong anger, hatred, or a personal motive behind the crime. Investigators may also see it as a sign that the shooter had a deep emotional connection to the victim or was acting out of intense rage.

Caught by CCTV, three men entered their store, closed the roll up door, and shot the entire family to death. Before fleeing, one of the suspect even grabbed a bag and mobile phone from the suspects. In a report by Gary De Leon of TV 5's 'Frontline Pilipinas,' the family started getting threats after lending P1-M to one of the residents of their barangay; allegedly using the money for business.
In another viral local report, a 51-year-old public teacher in Las Piñas City was stabbed multiple times by her own husband. According to the report of EJ Gomez in 'Unang Balita,' the 38-year-old suspect committed the crime inside the school's faculty room. Police authorities said the school has a security guard, but being a familiar face in the school, the suspect managed to easily get in and out of the school. The suspect said he was there to talk to his wife and settle their misunderstanding, but unfortunately, it led to a big arguement.
