A female graduating student named Janine Balanza was dragged for several meters along EDSA.
Captured in a cellphone video, the victim was seen clinging to the back part of a motorcycle while being dragged by a male rider.
Even with a concerned citizen honking to stop him, the rider didn’t slow down; instead, he kept dragging the victim for a few meters and only stopped near an overpass, where the girl was finally able to let go of the motorcycle.
According to a report by TV5's 'Frontline Pilipinas Weekend,' the victim was trying to sell her cellphone to pay for her tuition fee, and the rider was supposed to be the buyer.

However, the rider told the girl that he needed to withdraw money and asked her to accompany him.
But when they arrived at the bank right when the girl was about to get off the motorcycle, the rider immediately removed the side-stand and took off.
According to the victim, her instincts quickly kicked in, and she decided to grab the tail-end part of the motorcycle.
The victim sustained multiple wounds on different parts of her body after the incident. Because of the severity of her wound on her foot, it needed to be stitched.
Authorities are still looking for the suspect, whom they already have a lead on his identity.
