A senior citizen is currently in a comatose state after being violently attacked in a bag-snatching incident in Valencia City, Bukidnon.

The shocking incident was caught on CCTV and reported by Cyril Chaves on GMA Regional TV One Mindanao.

In the footage, the elderly woman can be seen walking along the left side of the road with her bag slung over her left shoulder.

Suddenly, a man on a motorcycle drives up beside her and grabs the bag.

The force of the snatching spun the woman around, causing her to fall hard onto the pavement and lose consciousness.

“Then paghablot sa bag niya, eventually, natumba siya, nahila siya at nakakuha siya ng injuries sa different parts of her body. Unfortunately, kahit nadala siya sa hospital, nasa state of coma ang biktima. Up to now, hindi pa siya conscious,” said Police Major Jayvee Babaan, spokesperson of the Bukidnon Police Provincial Office.

The suspect, who was not wearing a helmet but had his face covered, was captured on CCTV during the incident.

As of this writing, the victim’s family has not released a statement.

Authorities are now calling on the public for assistance.

“Kung may mga information kayo to this incident, kindly contact our Valencia City Police Station to give important details in relation to this incident,” urged Major Babaan.
