A 36-year-old man has been apprehended in Valenzuela City following allegations of repeatedly assaulting the minor sibling of his live-in partner.

The arrest was made based on an outstanding warrant related to two counts of violating Article 266-A of the Revised Penal Code, which pertains to carnal abuse, in conjunction with Republic Act 7610, also known as the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act.

According to police reports, the charges against the accused stem from incidents that allegedly began in 2017 when the victim was a minor.

The Valenzuela City Chief of Police, Police Colonel Nixon Cayaban, stated that the victim, who was only 16 years old in 2020 when the formal complaint was filed, reported a series of alleged molestations dating back several years, with one of the incidents occurring in August 2020 prompting the victim to confide in her mother, leading to the lodging of the complaint.

The accused is currently detained at the custodial facility of the Valenzuela City Police Station.

In his defense, the suspect claimed that the victim was also a willing participant in the alleged acts. He further suggested that his actions might have been influenced by a perceived resentment towards his live-in partner's parents, stating that there was a conflict between them around the time of the alleged incidents.

Authorities have already executed the return of the arrest warrant and are now awaiting the commitment order from the court to proceed with further legal proceedings.

Still in other news, Alvin Que, also known as Ronxian Gou, was accused by a suspect of ordering the kidnapping and murder of his own father, businessman Anson Que, and their driver. Alvin allegedly acted as the family’s negotiator and paid a total of P13 million in ransom through a cryptocurrency account on March 31 and April 2. Despite reports that up to P100 million was paid in ransom, Anson Que and his driver were found dead on April 9 in Rodriguez, Rizal. The PNP Anti-Kidnapping Group recommended six individuals, including Alvin Que, for preliminary investigation by the Department of Justice on April 19.
