An eatery in Baguio City was discovered selling viands made from dog meat.

The Task Force Monitoring Inspection Group of the Baguio LGU was shocked when they entered the establishment.

Inside, they found a large bowl filled with sliced dog meat and also saw three dog heads stored in the freezer.

According to a report by TV5's 'Frontline Pilipinas,' the eatery is located along Dagohoy Street.

In an interview by News 5, the owner of the eatery said, "Aware ako an bawal. Kaya lang, walang magawa kasi 'yun ang hinahanap ng customer."

Although dog meat was in demand, a lot were still against it. Reportedly, a number of concerned citizens sent anonymous tips to authorities that's why an inspection was conducted on the said eatery.

The eatery was only given a "notice of violation," and when caught again, their business permit will be revoked.

Yes, eating dog meat can be dangerous to your health. It may carry diseases like rabies and parasites that can harm people. Since the meat is often not checked properly, there is a high risk of food poisoning or infection.

Also, how the animals are killed and handled is usually not safe or clean. Eating dog meat is also against the law in many places, including the Philippines, because of animal welfare rules. That’s why it is not only risky to health but also illegal.
