The arrest warrant for statutory rap* was released in January 2025, and since then, the alleged suspect has reportedly started hiding, according to PNP.
The alleged suspect was arrested in a hospital in Morong, Rizal, after he posted on social media that his live-in partner was about to give birth on April 15.
In an interview with ABS-CBN, the alleged suspect denied the accusations against him.
The alleged also said that it's impossible to happen since he was committed to someone else.
In the Philippines, statutory rap* is defined under Republic Act No. 11648, which amended the Revised Penal Code. As of the amendment signed in March 2022, the age of s*xual consent is 16 years old. This means that statutory rap* happens when an adult or any person engages in s*xual int*rcourse with someone below 16 years old, even if the younger person agrees or gives consent. The law does not recognize consent if the child is under 16.
There is, however, an exception for individuals who are close in age. If both individuals are at least 13 years old, and the age difference between them is not more than three years, and the s*xual act is consensual and not abusive or exploitative, then it may not be considered statutory rap*. This law was passed to better protect minors from s*xual abuse and exploitation.

In a report by Gary De Leon of TV 5's 'Frontline Pilipinas,' the family started getting threats after lending P1-M to one of the residents of their barangay; allegedly using the money for business.
In another viral local report, a 51-year-old public teacher in Las Piñas City was stabbed multiple times by her own husband. According to the report of EJ Gomez in 'Unang Balita,' the 38-year-old suspect committed the crime inside the school's faculty room. Police authorities said the school has a security guard, but being a familiar face in the school, the suspect managed to easily get in and out of the school. The suspect said he was there to talk to his wife and settle their misunderstanding, but unfortunately, it led to a big arguement.
