A Chinese crew member from the capsized ship was declared dead on arrival at a hospital.
The vessel, which was loaded with sand, was preparing to depart from Rizal, Occidental Mindoro, when it suddenly tilted and overturned.
Based on reports, 14 crew members — including 6 Filipinos and 8 Chinese nationals — have already been rescued.
Efforts to search and rescue the 10 remaining missing crew members are still in progress.

One person died while 10 others are still missing after a Chinese cargo ship capsized off the coast of Occidental Mindoro on Tuesday afternoon, April 15, 2025.
According to reports, the person who died was a Chinese national who was declared dead on arrival at a hospital.
The ship, which was carrying sand, was scheduled to sail from Rizal, Occidental Mindoro at around 4:30 p.m. when it suddenly tilted and then completely overturned.
There were 25 people on board — a mix of Filipino and Chinese crew members. So far, 6 Filipinos and 8 Chinese nationals have been rescued.
The search and rescue operation continues, as authorities believe 10 crew members may still be trapped inside the ship.
