The water level in the well had already decreased due to a submersible pump installed in it.

But while Jason was descending into the well using a rope, he was el3ctrocuted and fell into the water.

His father-in-law and two other relatives tried to save him, but they were also el3ctrocuted and fell into the well, eventually drowning.

According to BFP personnel, the submersible pump may have been grounded, which caused the el3ctrocution.

A relative of the victims admitted they had forgotten to turn off the main power switch connected to the pump.

The victims were rushed to the hospital by rescue teams but were declared dead on arrival.
