When a person is found dead in the Philippines, the first step is to report it immediately to the police or barangay officials. Authorities will secure the scene to preserve any evidence, and SOCO will investigate, document, and collect evidence. The body is then transferred to a funeral home or morgue for identification and, if necessary, an autopsy to determine the cause of death. Once identified, the family is notified, and the police prepare an official report while continuing the investigation if foul play is suspected.
