Moments later, another motorcycle carrying two men arrived at the scene.
The passenger of the second motorcycle got off, approached the victim, and shot him multiple times—even after the victim had already fallen to the ground.
The gunman and his companion quickly fled the scene. The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
Police believe that the shooting may have been triggered by a personal conflict, possibly an argument during a local dance event.
Authorities are currently pursuing the suspects, who are facing charges of murder.
This incident adds to a growing list of gun-related killings involving motorcycle-riding assailants in the Philippines.
In January 2024, a barangay official in Bulacan was gunned down by two men on a motorcycle. In another case in March, a business owner in Cebu was killed in a similar manner.
These repeated attacks have raised public concern over motorcycle-related shootings, prompting calls for stricter gun control and better surveillance in public areas. Investigations in all cases are ongoing.

Still in Negros Occidental, a 53-year-old woman died and two others were injured after being hit by a pickup truck while jogging in Barangay Tangub, Bacolod City. The incident occurred when the group of women briefly stopped their jog to take photographs, leading to the collision with the vehicle. The pickup truck driver, Fernando Oquina, stated that he did not see the women on the road prior to the collision. The family of the victim is determined to file a case.
Meanwhile in other news, a barangay chairman in Sta. Maria, Pangasinan died after he was shot but a still unknown gunman. According to the report of Balitanghali of GMA Integrated News, the victim was driving a tricycle. A man at the roadside then signaled for him to stop, and when he did, he was shot by the perpetrator. The gunman immediately fled the scene, but authorities already have a person of interest.
