Tricycle, nabangga ng MPV at tumama sa isa pang tricycle

A dashcam captured the moment an MPV collided with a tricycle from behind in Antipolo City, causing the tricycle to lose control and crash into another tricycle coming from the opposite direction.

According to a report by EJ Gomez on GTV News Balitanghali this Tuesday, the incident happened on April 2 along Manuel L. Extension in Barangay Dalig.

The video shows the MPV hitting the tricycle it was following.

As a result, the tricycle driver lost control, veered into the opposite lane, and crashed into another oncoming tricycle.

The impact caused one tricycle to tip over, throwing off some of its passengers.

According to a witness who was driving nearby, “Kumabig ang driver ng MPV kaya nabangga niya yung sinusundang tricycle.”

The witness also noted that there were children on board the tricycles.

“Yung isa po [na sakay ng tricycle] ay duguan, tapos may nakadagan pa sa kaniyang isa pang tao din kaya hindi po sila makagalaw. Tapos yung driver naman po ng tricycle na binangga ng sasakyan, nakabangon naman siya agad although may injury lang siyang tinamo,” the witness added.

A traffic enforcer arrived shortly after and called an ambulance, which brought the injured to a hospital.

The Antipolo police station confirmed that eight people were riding the two tricycles involved in the crash, three of whom were minors.

The 23-year-old MPV driver stopped and coordinated with the victims.

According to police, he also took responsibility for their medical expenses and the repairs of the damaged tricycles, although he declined to give a public statement.

Still in other news, a security guard ran amok in Cebu and was caught on video dragging a co-employee on the road. Based on the report of Frontline Pilipinas, it was past 12 a.m. on April 8, when shouts of a woman rang in the Uptown Area of Cebu City. Another security guard tried to help, and the woman was also trying to hold on to the man who was helping him. Policemen, particularly from the SWAT, arrived and pursued the suspect, and he was shot on the leg when he tried to charge at the responding officers.
