In the Philippines, when a truck is involved in an accident with no other vehicles and people die, the driver is generally presumed to be at fault unless they can prove otherwise.
The case is often treated as reckless imprudence resulting in homicid3 or injury. If the driver is employed, the truck’s owner or employer may also be held civilly liable, especially if the incident occurred during work-related duties.
The driver can present defenses, such as mechanical failure or unavoidable external factors, but they must show proof. If road conditions played a role, the government may be partly liable, though that’s harder to prove.
Ultimately, liability depends on the results of the investigation and available evidence.

In another viral local report, a 51-year-old public teacher in Las Piñas City was stabbed multiple times by her own husband. According to the report of EJ Gomez in 'Unang Balita,' the 38-year-old suspect committed the crime inside the school's faculty room. Police authorities said the school has a security guard, but being a familiar face in the school, the suspect managed to easily get in and out of the school. The suspect said he was there to talk to his wife and settle their misunderstanding, but unfortunately, it led to a big arguement.
