A female pastor was arrested at the airport for alleged illegal recruitment, according to a TV Patrol report.

The suspect was with nine other individuals at the time of her apprehension.

Jimmy De Leon, Chief of the NBI International Airport Investigation Division, stated that the pastor claimed she was taking her companions on a "church mission" in Thailand.

However, authorities suspected that most of them would be sent elsewhere and would fail to return home.

Two individuals traveling with the pastor revealed that she had offered them volunteer work in a public school abroad.

They were promised only an allowance for their services.

One of the individuals who was about to leave the country with her before the arrest spoke about the pastor’s ability to influence others.

"Napakagaling po niya mag-preach ng Word of God na talagang mapapahikayat ka po sa mga sinasabi niya," the individual said, noting the suspect's preaching skills.

Despite being confronted with questions by an *ABS-CBN* reporter, the female pastor remained silent in the video shared by the network.

Authorities continue their investigation to determine the full extent of the recruitment scheme.

Meanwhile, law enforcement agencies urge individuals seeking work abroad to verify job offers through proper government channels to avoid falling victim to illegal recruitment.

Reports also state that the 77-year-old male was identified as a manager at an agri-machinery company. Investigators say that the two were tailed by motorcycle-riding gunmen and when they got to a certain, they opened fire, fatally injuring the 77-year-old male and inflicting injuries to his wife.
