Witnesses at the scene reported that the car's driver intentionally collided with the motorcycle after the rider snatched his cellphone.

"I was walking here when suddenly, the motorcycle rider snatched the cellphone from the car driver. Some people said he was a known robber.
He had snatched many cellphones. They were in a high-speed chase around dawn," one witness recounted.
The motorcycle rider sustained critical injuries from the collision and later died at the scene, as confirmed by another witness.
"I saw the person who was hit lying on the sidewalk. The car driver said he was robbed of his cellphone, which is why he chased and hit him to retrieve it. After the collision, he found and retrieved his cellphone. He showed the people there that it was indeed his cellphone," the witness stated.
Following the incident, the car driver surrendered to authorities and is now in police custody. The Las Piñas police have declined to provide further details as they conduct their ongoing investigation.
