On March 26, a task force comprising multiple government agencies under the Inter-Agency Council Against Traffick1ng (IACAT) apprehended lawyer Michael Molina following extensive cyber-surveillance and intelligence operations.
According to the Department of Justice (DOJ), the operation led to the rescue of three minors, while six other individuals were also identified as potential victims of s3xual abuse.
“Seized items upon initial examination showed that Molina’s exploitation of children may have started 2012, while in-depth forensic examination of his devices will be performed as data recovered suggests that his collection and production of child abus3 materials may have started as early as 2002,” the DOJ stated.

“These laws impose severe penalties on individuals engaged in human traffick1ng, online s3xual exploitation, and any form of child abus3, ensuring that those who prey on vulnerable minors are held accountable to the fullest extent of the law,” the DOJ emphasized.
The operation was carried out by a team from the DOJ - Office of Cybercrime, the National Bureau of Investigation, the National Coordinating Center on Online S3xual Abuse or Exploitation of Children, and IACAT, with support from the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission and the NGO Exodus Philippines.
