In a desperate attempt to save her, the father rushed the child to the Sultan Ismail Hospital.

However, due to the severe head injuries she sustained, the little girl was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Authorities have classified the case under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987, which deals with causing death by reckless or dangerous driving.

The tragic event serves as a grim reminder of the importance of vehicle safety, particularly in areas where young children are present.

Unfortunately, incidents like this are not uncommon. In 2020, a similar case in another part of Malaysia saw a toddler fatally injured when a relative accidentally backed over the child in the driveway.

Such accidents highlight the need for increased vigilance when operating vehicles near small children. Experts recommend installing rearview cameras, conducting thorough checks before reversing, and ensuring children are in a safe area before moving a vehicle.
