According to Greg Quimpo, Regional Director of the Animal Welfare Investigation Project, the suspect denied at first that he knew that he was being recorded.

However, he debunked it by saying when he his the aspin the second time, he looked at the person recording and seemed to be asking if what he did was enough.

"Pero sabi ko nagsisinungaling ka. Kasi nung pangalawang hataw mo ng aso eh, tumingin ka 'dun sa nagvi-video parang sinasabi mo na 'okay na ba?' parang ganun ang sabi ko sa kanya eh," Quimpo said in an interview with GMA 7's 'State of the Nation.'

When GMA Integrated News tried asking Tan-Tan's side, he was having a hard time speaking in Filipino, which was why the barangay officials helped him.

"Kasi sir, 'yung aso raw nangangagat [nanghahabol] ng mga taong dumaraan, kaya nagawa niya 'yon... noong nakarang taon pa 'yan... Nagsisisi nga siya sa ginawa niya," said KAP. JUNIL AZUCENA of BRGY. KABITAN, MANDAON, MASBATE.

"Kasi 'di naman ito sir nakapag-aral... kaya 'di niya naintindihan 'yung batas sa hayop... Kaya sabi niya, sir, humingi raw siya ng patawad at 'di na raw niya uulitin," Azucena added.

Tan-Tan was charged with violating the Animal Welfare Act, which is equivalent to 6 months to 2 years imprisonment and a fine that could reach up to P100,000.

They are also looking for the person who recorded and uploaded the video.

In a report by Atom Araullo in GMA 7's 'State of the Nation,' the uploader of the video said the dog came to them after the stabbing incident. Allegedly, Tiger stole some meat from a meat stand, resulting in a female vendor stabbing the poor dog.

In another news, an aspin or "Asong Pinoy" was found wounded in Murcia, Pangasinan. The dog had 5 improvised arrows impaled in its body. In a report by Pia Arcangel in GMA 7's 'SAKSI,' on Monday, the owner found her dog named 'Tiktok' in a very bad shape, and it seemed weak. Additionally, a metal wire was also found wrapped around the poor dog's neck.
