The event's core objective was to have each candidate sign an Integrity Pledge, a formal commitment to uphold a safe, honest, orderly, peaceful, credible, and fair election.

Discaya's absence prompted questions, with congressional candidate Atty. Ian Sia explaining that she was at home, citing health concerns related to her diabetes and asthma.

He also mentioned that she had prioritized a medical mission.

The local government clarified that while attendance was not mandatory, participation in the Peace Covenant signing held significant symbolic weight.

Following the event, Mayor Sotto extended well wishes to all candidates, expressing his hope for a campaign period and election marked by truth, fairness, and peace.

He also addressed a previous invitation from the opposing camp to sign a peace covenant in 2024, explaining that he did not respond because Comelec traditionally hosts such events close to the election period.

“Comelec hosts this before every election, 1 day before the campaign period.

Sotto also remarked on the irony of the situation.

PPCRV Priest Coordinator Fr. Sanchez urged candidates to focus on presenting their visions for Pasig City and avoid personal attacks.

He explained that since 2016, he has refrained from displaying tarpaulins before the official campaign period, which begins on March 29, 2025. He emphasized a significant 'loophole' in the law that allows for premature campaigning, which is why many candidates violate Comelec regulations.
