Authorities conducted an entrapment operation that led to her arrest, bringing attention to the alarming issue of child traff!cking.

According to an exclusive report by GMA News, undercover agents from the Philippine National Police (PNP) posed as prospective parents who were interested in "adopting" the child.

The transaction was arranged under the pretense that the child would be picked up from Nueva Vizcaya.

Once the suspect accepted the money in exchange for her daughter, the authorities moved in and arrested her on the spot.

During the investigation, the woman admitted that financial hardship drove her to commit the act.

She claimed she only wanted her child to have a better future with another family.

However, selling or traff!cking a child is a serious crime under Philippine law, and authorities acted swiftly to prevent the illegal transaction from pushing through.

The suspect is now detained at Camp Crame and has refused to grant any interviews regarding the incident.

Meanwhile, the police have emphasized their ongoing efforts to combat child traff!cking and other forms of exploitation.

"Meron kami grupo na nag-uundercover, nag-jojoin para sa mga grupo regarding sa baby selling," said PLtCol. Armelina Manalo, Officer-in-Charge of the PNP Women and Children Protection Center (WCPC) Luzon Field Unit.
