A 62-year-old retired seaman was fatally stabbed in the neck inside his home in Barangay Buhangin, Davao City

Authorities identified the primary suspect as the victim’s household helper, who had been working for the family for 15 years.

According to investigators, the suspect and the victim were alone in the house when the crime occurred.

The possible motive for the attack was reportedly an argument between the victim and the suspect.

The suspect allegedly fled the scene after taking the victim’s money amounting to ₱50,000.

Police later recovered the knife and metal pipe used in the killing.

A manhunt is now underway for the suspect, who will face a murder complaint once apprehended. Authorities continue their investigation as they seek justice for the victim.
