British-Israeli lawyer Atty. Nicholas Kaufman has finally spoken with former president Rodrigo Duterte.
In a report by GMA 7's 'Balitanghali,' he reportedly had a two-hour conversation with FPRRD.
Additionally, Kaufman told the press that he is confident Duterte will be acquitted.
He also stated that he promised to visit the former Philippine president every day while he is in The Hague, as long as he is permitted to do so.

"I'm very confident of the strongest defense possible, and I'm very confident that he'll be acquitted indeed, even at the earliest stage possible," said Atty. Kaufman.
"I'm available to visit before the President as long as I'm here, as long as I'm allowed to do so. I have promised him that I will come everyday that I'm in the Hague," he added.
Once granted, Atty. Kaufman will act as the head of former president Duterte's legal counsel.
Meanwhile, reports revealed that Atty. Salvador Medialdea and Atty. Harry Roque will no longer part of FPRRD's legal counsel, according to Vice President Sara Duterte.
FPRRD is still in The Hague and preparing for the hearing of his case before the ICC on September 23.

Known for his expertise in international criminal law, Kaufman has experience in both prosecution and defense roles before various international tribunals. Beyond his legal practice, he is also involved in academic and professional training on international criminal law.
In a previous report by KAMI, former president Rodrigo Duterte has chosen a lawyer to stand as the head of their legal counsel. This piece of information was according to Vice President Sara Duterte as reported by Ivan Mayrina in '24 Oras.' His name is Nicholas Kaufman, a British-Israeli lawyer, and among the appointed List of Counsels of the International Criminal Court. This has yet to be finalized, according to the report, they submitted the needed documents so they could add both Atty. Harry Roque and Kaufman to be their legal counsel.
