House Deputy Majority Leader Francisco Paolo Ortega V has revealed several other "strange" names that are said to have received confidential funds from Sara Duterte's Office of Vice President, which includes a "Jay Kamote" and a "Miggy Mango," GMA News reported.

In a statement on Sunday, the congressman from La Union said that the list also includes the names Dodong Alcala, Dodong Bina, Dodong Bunal, Dodong Darong, and Dodong S. Barok.
Ortega said that this could be used to strengthen the impeachment case against Duterte.
Among the complaints against Duterte in the impeachment case filed by the House of Representatives are alleged receipts or documents with wrong dates, signatures without the names of the signatories, and illegible names of the signatories, to justify the use of the said controversial funds in 2022 and 2023, by the OVP and the Department of Education (DepEd) when he was its secretary.

The name “Mary Grace Piattos,” which appeared without a record from the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), had previously surfaced.
Recently, another name also surfaced that was also an alleged beneficiary of the said fund, named “Xiaome Ocho,” which is the name of a cellphone brand.
“Hindi lang ito kapabayaan—ito ay isang maingat na planong paglustay sa pondo ng bayan. Peke ang mga pangalan, peke ang liquidation, at peke ang pananagutan," Ortega said.
After the House sent the articles of impeachment to the Senate, Duterte’s camp filed a petition with the Supreme Court to question the validity of the complaint filed against him.

Duterte has previously said that he did not commit any irregularities with the said fund and insisted that politics is behind the attacks against him.
Senate President Francis “Chiz” Escudero earlier announced that the Senate will begin its hearings on the charges against Duterte as an impeachment court in July.

In other news, illicit drug trade disguised as a parcel distribution center was recently uncovered by authorities. In a surveillance video shared on 24 Oras Weekend, one can see an individual receiving a parcel from a rider in front of an apartment building. Subsequently, another person seen waiting for another set of package in the same place. Authorities later swooped down on the said parcel distribution center and seized pastic bag and sachets of suspected illegal substance with an estimated street value of around 6.8 million pesos.
