Kitty Duterte has taken to social media to share another update about former President Rodrigo Duterte, who was arrested earlier today upon his arrival at NAIA Terminal 3 from his trip in Hong Kong.

On Instagram Stories, Kitty claimed that authorities are denying the former head of the country the proper healthcare he needs.

She likewise shared a photo of her father who is purportedly “getting weaker by the minute.”

“They are denying my dad the proper healthcare he needs. They are keeping him confined here and not allowing us to bring him to the hospital. He is getting weaker by the minute,” Kitty wrote.

The former president’s arrest was carried out pursuant to a warrant issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC) for alleged crimes against humanity.

The warrant stems from the controversial war on dr&gs during Duterte’s administration, which has been widely criticized for its alleged human rights violations, including extrajudicial killings.

Previously, a video showing former President Rodrigo Duterte’s longtime partner, Honeylet Avanceña, seemingly trying to prevent the former leader from being taken into custody has gone viral.

The video, which was posted on the social media page of their daughter, Kitty, and shared by ABS-CBN news on its own page, has since then made the rounds on social media.

The said video also captured snippets of conversations between Avanceña and the former leader.

According to the footage and accompanying commentary, Avanceña expressed strong objections to her husband being taken into custody. She described the actions of the authorities as abusive and asserted that no formal arrest warrant had been presented.

According to a video from the Office of Senator Bong Go, which was posted on GMA News’ social media page, Go was able to speak with Duterte on the phone while the senator was on his way to Villamor Air Base from NAIA Terminal 3.

Meanwhile, former Senator Leila De Lima called former President Rodrigo Duterte’s arrest deeply personal, recalling her own imprisonment on what she says were fabricated charges. She emphasized that Duterte must now face justice not in public opinion but under the rule of law. De Lima stated that his arrest is not about vengeance but about accountability for the victims of his drug war. Lastly, she acknowledged the efforts of human rights advocates and families of victims, saying their fight for justice continues.
