According to a report from ABS-CBN News, the driver, a senior citizen, allegedly fell asleep while driving, leading to the accident.

Authorities stated that the victims were residents of Rizal and were on their way to Mandaluyong when the crash occurred.

Eyewitnesses reported hearing a loud impact as the MPV struck the center island, causing significant damage to the vehicle and obstructing traffic for some time.

Emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene to assist the victims and clear the wreckage.

While there were no immediate reports of fatalities, several passengers reportedly sustained minor to moderate injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Meanwhile, authorities are reminding drivers, especially senior citizens and those traveling long distances, to take necessary precautions to prevent similar incidents.

This includes getting adequate rest before driving and pulling over if they feel drowsy to avoid endangering themselves and others on the road.

Traffic enforcers managed to clear the crash site after several hours, allowing normal traffic flow to resume.

That's when the suspect stabbed the victim, multiple times; as reported, the victim sustained a total of 13 stab wounds.
