A tragic incident has claimed the life of Philippine Air Force 1st Lieutenant April John “AJ” Dadulla, just weeks before his scheduled wedding to a fellow military pilot.

The 29-year-old pilot, along with his co-pilot, perished when their FA-50 fighter jet crashed on the slopes of Mount Kalatungan in Bukidnon, during a mission on March 4th.
Dadulla, a resident of Manolo Fortich town, Bukidnon, was described by his elder brother, Jovenel, as a man with dreams and determination, deeply devoted to his family and eagerly anticipating his wedding.
Jovenel recounted a text message from his brother, inquiring about the weather in Bukidnon, and expressed regret for his delayed response.

He also shared memories of his brother’s caring nature, particularly after the loss of their mother, and their shared plans for home improvement projects.
The pilot and his fiancée, 1st Lieutenant Alyssa Coleen Columbino, had recently completed their pre-nuptial photo and video shoot in Zambales, capturing moments of their planned future together.
These images now serve as a poignant reminder of the life they were about to build.
Dadulla, a graduate of the PAF Officer Candidate School, was known for his dedication to duty.
The FA-50 jet he was co-piloting took off from Benito Ebuen Air Base in Cebu.
During a tactical operation, contact was lost with the pilots of another jet, and their aircraft crashed in the challenging terrain of Mount Kalatungan.
A combined team of soldiers, local volunteers, and forest guards braved difficult conditions to reach the crash site.
Their remains were recovered and transported to a mortuary in Cagayan de Oro.
In a gesture of planning for his future, Dadulla had sent a reservation fee for a housing unit in Cagayan de Oro to real estate agent Merasol Adlawan, who explained that he did so because he was very busy at that time.
His fiancée expressed her grief and pride on social media, stating her enduring love for him.
Friends, family, and colleagues have also shared tributes, remembering Dadulla for his dedication and service.
The couple's wedding photographer, Teodi Mark Yambot, recalled capturing their pre-nuptial moments in Zambales, noting their plans to marry at Our Lady of Manaoag Church in Pangasinan on March 15th.
Wedding planners also spoke of Dadulla's evident eagerness for his upcoming marriage. The investigation into the crash is still ongoing.

In a report by GMA News, quoting a report by Super Radyo Davao, it stated that the aircraft was found in the rugged terrains of Mount Kalatungan in Bukidnon. According to an earlier statement by PAF, the said fighter jet was on a routine Tactical Night Operations when it went missing.
In other news, a man died in Manila after succumbing to a stab wound allegedly inflicted by a suspect. In a report by GMA News, the incident happened in the Aroma compound in Tondo, Monday afternoon. According to authorities, the victim went to the area looking for an unidentified woman who was allegedly the sister of the suspect. A dispute soon ensued, which quickly escalated, and ended in the victim being stabbed by the suspect.
