A dump truck crashed into two motorcycles in Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental.

According to a report by TV5's 'Frontline Tonight,' the accident resulted in three casualties, including the two motorcycle riders and a passenger.

Police authorities revealed that two of the victims were siblings, while the third casualty was their friend.

Reports stated that the victims were on their way to work on Tuesday morning when the dump truck suddenly rammed into them.

Based on the police investigations, the dump truck suddenly changed its lane and crashed into the 2 incoming motorcycles.

However, reports said it wasn't clear yet if it was a machine failure or if it was the driver's fault.

The victims were even rushed to the hospital for immediate medical attention but were pronounced dead on arrival.

"'Yung driver naman, nag-voluntary surrender. Posibleng magkaroon ng amicable settlement. May initial na talk na rin sila na 'yung mga burial expenses ng mga namatay ay iso-shoulder ng company [ng driver ng truck]," said Capt. Arturo Margallo, Deputy of Police, Himalayan CPS.

An amicable settlement in the context of a road accident involving accidental death refers to a mutual agreement between the responsible party (the driver) and the victim's family to resolve the matter outside of court. This usually involves financial compensation for the victim’s family in exchange for not pursuing criminal or civil charges.
