Police officers from the Valenzuela City Police Station arrested a man who was accused of murder.
He allegedly killed a relative in 1994 and had been evading authorities for the past 30 years.
According to a report by TV5's 'Frontline Pilipinas,' he managed to stay hidden for so long because his relatives spread the news that he had already passed away.
However, it was later discovered that he had been in hiding in Quezon City all along.

His whereabouts were discovered by the police authorities because he was active in social media.
According to P/Col. Nixon Cayaban, Chief of Police of the Valenzuela City Police, the suspect was ranked number 2 of the city's Top Most Wanted Person.
The suspect refused to issue any statement about the case filed against him. Additionally, the commitment order against him was already released and he was already brought to Valenzuela City's BJMP facility.
The murder case against the alleged suspect had no recommendation.
In the Philippines, murder is generally non-bailable because it is classified as a capital offense with severe penalties under Article 248 of the Revised Penal Code.
It is considered one of the most serious crimes as it involves the intentional killing of another person with qualifying circumstances such as treachery or evident premeditation.
The penalty for murder is reclusion perpetua (20 to 40 years imprisonment) or, before its abolition, the death penalty, making it a non-bailable offense due to its severity.
However, an accused may still apply for bail if they can prove in court that the evidence of guilt is not strong, with the final decision resting on the judge's assessment of the prosecution's case.
