Authorities took a 15-year-old motorcycle rider into custody after a high-speed chase along Marilaque Highway.

The incident, which was caught on video and aired by GMA’s Saksi, showed the minor racing along the highway at an alarming speed while being pursued by police.

According to reports, the chase began in Baras, Rizal, and stretched all the way to Antipolo before law enforcers managed to intercept the young rider.

Although he was not formally arrested, authorities impounded the motorcycle he was riding.

Officials confirmed that the motorcycle's owner will be held accountable for allowing the underage individual to operate the vehicle.

Philippine law strictly prohibits minors from driving motorized vehicles without a proper license, and such incidents highlight the risks associated with reckless riding, especially on major highways.

Authorities continue to remind the public, particularly parents and guardians, to ensure that minors do not engage in unauthorized and dangerous activities like illegal motorcycle riding.

Marilaque Highway, known for its sharp curves and high-speed traffic, has been the site of numerous accidents involving reckless riders.

The incident serves as a warning about the dangers of allowing unlicensed individuals to ride on public roads, and law enforcers are expected to impose stricter measures to prevent similar occurrences in the future.
