A 17-year-old male sustained injuries after resisting an attempted robbery by three individuals on Mel Lopez Boulevard in Tondo, Manila.

One of the suspects has been apprehended by authorities.
The victim suffered two stab wounds to the back during the altercation.
According to Barangay 101 officials, the victim is not a resident of the area, but information gathered indicates he works as a “palero,” or one who shovels garbage, and was on his way to collect his wages when the incident occurred.

The victim reportedly encountered the three suspects on the road, who then attempted to seize the borrowed bicycle he was riding.
A struggle ensued, and one of the suspects produced a bladed weapon, stabbing the victim twice in the back.
Despite his injuries, the victim managed to flee and seek assistance, which led to his prompt hospitalization.
Following the assault, the three suspects fled with the bicycle, but were pursued by local residents.
The chase ended when the suspects scattered.
The suspect who stabbed the victim reportedly jumped into a nearby body of water and hid among the bridge's support beams.
Barangay officials reported that the suspect's apprehension required a two-hour operation, during which residents were evacuated from the area to ensure safety.
“In-isolate namin 'yung residente, pinababa namin dun sa may baba, lahat pinalabas namin para hindi na pumanik o gumawa pa ng hindi maganda. Nung nadulas ‘yung suspek dun sa ibabaw, siguro nagtatago siya dun, dumulas siya sa kabila, nalaglag siya, pagkalaglag niya dun na siya pinaupo ng tatlo, dun na siya inahon samin sa pampang saka dun na namin talaga nakuha ung tao,” said Arwin Francisco.
According to the parent of the victim's former partner, the young man is fortunate to have survived, but will require surgery.
“Ooperahan daw po sabi ng aking anak kasi tumulong po ‘yung anak ko kahapon dun sa lola niya dahil wala pong kasama,” said Michelle Castillo.
The apprehended suspect is now in the custody of the Manila Police District, while the search for his two accomplices continues.
Authorities are attempting to obtain statements from the suspect and the police regarding the ongoing investigation.
