According to the video, the taho vendor tripped, causing his entire supply to scatter across the pavement.
Upon witnessing the mishap, Dan Dais II and fellow cadets, who were on liberty leave at the time, immediately took action.

Instead of simply observing the unfortunate event, they decided to pool their resources to compensate the vendor for his lost income.
