An SUV crashed into a kolong-kolong (motorcycle with open sidecar) in Iloilo City.
According to police investigations, the kolong-kolong was carrying sacks of vegetables and was on its way to the Iloilo Terminal Market.
Two passengers of the kolong-kolong lost their lives, while three others sustained injuries.
The aftermath of the incident showed sacks of vegetables scattered on the road where the SUV rammed the kolong-kolong.

In an interview by GMA Regional TV via GMA 7's 'Balitanghali,' PAT. Kem John Pendon stated that the SUV was moving at high speed when the incident occurred.

"Base sa impact, medyo matulin ang SUV kasi makikita rin natin sa damage at as injuries ng mga pasahero," said PAT. Kem John Pendon.
The family of one of the victims has decided to continue filing a case against the SUV driver.
Meanwhile, the SUV driver refused to issue any statement about the incident. He is now in custody of Iloilo City Police Station 3.
"Kolong-kolong" is a term used in some parts of the Philippines to refer to an improvised or modified tricycle, often used for public transportation in rural areas. In English, it can be translated as "motorized tricycle" or "improvised tricycle."
