A motorcycle rider involved in an accident on Commonwealth Avenue in Quezon City found himself in deeper trouble after police who responded to the scene allegedly discovered illegal drug in his possession.

The 32-year-old man, who sustained injuries from the collision with another motorcycle, insisted the drug were not his.

According to a report by James Agustin on Unang Balita this past Tuesday, police and rescuers found the man unconscious after he was thrown from his motorcycle.

While preparing to transport him to the hospital, police officers allegedly found suspected shabu (methamphetamine) in his shorts.

Further inspection revealed more sachets containing suspected shabu falling out as he was being lifted onto the ambulance.

The recovered sachets of suspected shabu weighed approximately 14 grams, with an estimated street value of P95,200, according to authorities.

Police indicated that the man was possibly en route to deliver the drug when the accident occurred.

The investigation suggests that the man has been involved in drug peddling activities in Commonwealth, Holy Spirit, and other areas of Quezon City.

After receiving medical treatment at the hospital, the suspect, who was still visibly injured and having difficulty standing, was arrested.

This marks the third time the suspect has been apprehended for drug-related offenses. He stated that he was traveling from Fairview to Batasan Hills when the accident happened.

"I was hit by another motorcycle. I was surprised, I lost consciousness. When I woke up, they had already recovered something from me. That's not mine," the suspect claimed.

Despite his denial, he has been formally charged with violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act.

The police are expected to continue their investigation to determine the veracity of the suspect's statements and to identify any other individuals who may be involved in the alleged drug operation.

The legal proceedings against the suspect are expected to unfold in the coming weeks.
